Aims and Objectives

The aim of the Disneyland® Resort Paris 12–14 years Parades and Shows Workbook is to reinforce learning in:

  • Art and Design
  • Music
  • Physical Education

  • All activities can be completed individually or as a group

Art and Design

Pre/Post Visit Work

Disneyland Resort Paris offers countless opportunities for the study of art and design.

As well as looking at the art and design in parades and shows, you could also investigate:

  • The art and design behind the merchandise in the boutiques, particularly the prints of Disney's animated films, hand blown glassware and ceramics
  • Hotel theming, how the Resort has chosen a topic for each of its Hotels and carries it through with costumes, room settings, menus etc

As well as developing, planning and communicating ideas, you could also use your visit to Disneyland Resort Paris to:

  • Explore the background music heard in the restaurants, hotels, on the rides and attractions etc.
  • Evaluate the strengths and characteristics needed by dancers in a parade

Design and Technology

Disneyland Resort Paris offers many chances to explore the uses of design and technology.

As well as looking into the design and technology behind the parades and shows you could investigate:

  • The use of materials, techniques and skills to add attention to detail in the rides in the Resort, i.e. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith on board stereo, the theming on the Space Mountain: Mission 2 carriages, the weathering on the rocks around Big Thunder Mountain
  • Evaluating and appreciating the evolution of moving pictures, shown through the displays in the Art of Disney Animation® – you can even create your own work of art
  • Using materials, techniques and skills – how the design and technology behind the movies has changed over the years by visiting CinéMagique
